When moving into post processing it is very easy to forget to close those shadows back up a bit to add more realism to the photo. The ability to open and close the Highlights and Shadows, similar to Camera Raw 7.0, is an awesome touch! One thing that tends to escape the HDRtist during tone mapping is the shadows. The image alignment engine is spot on, even for tricky hand held brackets. They have surpassed the tedious sliders with very intuitive radio buttons that make it very easy to create that perfect HDR image you are looking for. It doesn’t take a huge learning curve to have anyone tone mapping their brackets with amazing results in seconds. The Interface is clean, simple, and smart. With every one of them HDR Efex Pro 2 out performed all of my expectations! The Interface: I pitted Nik’s new upgrade against various HDR images that have varying levels of difficulty, the single image HDR, the low light brackets, the blown out sky, and the typical well rounded ideal situation brackets. I ran HDR Efex Pro 2 through the ringer over the last few days to see if it had the stones everyone was talking it up to have. I know I know, I am a bit behind the curve on this one, but I got my hands on it and put it to the EverydayHDR test.
